Free Online Therapy Resources

As a new clinician I generally felt more confident going into a session if I had done my homework, and had something in my back pocket to use in session if needed.  Here are my favorite free resources for therapists and clients.

1. PsychologyTools.org
This website, based out of the UK, has a wealth of therapy worksheets in 15+ different languages.  All of the material uses a Creative Commons license, which encourages other clinicians to download and share.

2. TF-CBT online training
Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD symptoms resulting from trauma, including sexual abuse, in kids.  For any clinician working with this population, this web-based training is essential learning.

3. Therapy Worksheets Blog
This is a blog that has therapy worksheets for different issues, and is managed by a licensed clinical social worker in Los Angeles.

4. Get Self Help
This website is run out of the UK and has CBT resources for therapists and clients.  Worksheets are translated into a few other languages.

5. The Utiblioteca
This is a free platform where clinicians can upload any document type or link to another resource, such as YouTube.  Providers and clients can rate resources in the library.  Unlike other websites, every resource in the library is linked to the sharing clinician.

Let me know what your favorite online therapy resource is.  And if you have resources that you have developed and are interested in sharing with other clinicians and clients, please register for Utila and start sharing!
